"The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) released figures for worldwide sales of chips in March.

It's mostly bad news, mitigated by the fact that sales were up 3.3 per cent from February 2009.

The SIA said sales in March were $14.7 billion and for the whole first calendar quarter of this year amounted to $44 billion – down 29.9 percent from the first calendar quarter of 2008." – Alan Cheslow
